Dr. Kassenova is a nonresident fellow on Nuclear Policy at the Carnegie Endowment. Her recently published book, Atomic Steppe: How Kazakhstan Gave Up the Bomb, discusses Kazakhstan’s nuclear history as well as it’s denuclearization after the fall of the Soviet Union.
