The FLAS application for summer 2025 and academic year 2025-2026 awards is now open!
Foreign Language & Area Studies fellowships are funded by the U.S. Department of Education and administered by UW-Madison’s National Resource Centers including CREECA at UW-Madison. FLAS awards are only available for specific languages, including those offered through CESSI, and are contingent on federal funding. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Attend an application workshop for a hands-on application workshop! Staff will provide application tips and then you’ll have some time to work on your application with FLAS advisors on hand to assist and answer questions.
