We are excited to announce that our applications for CESSI 2024 are now open. Apply today ! Priority deadline is February 1st.
The Central Eurasian Studies Summer Institute (CESSI), hosted by CREECA, is a unique, 8-week summer program that offers courses in Uzbek, Kazakh, Tajik, and Uyghur. Along with a high-quality, intensive language program, CESSI students enjoy many lectures and cultural events. Examples from past summers include film screenings, traditional Uzbek and Uyghur dance lessons, a Central Asian textile workshop, and a “Dastarkhan” community meal.
CESSI is open to undergraduates, masters and PhD students, scholars, researchers, and professionals. Most of our courses are at the elementary or intermediate level, but advanced courses may become available with enough interest. Funding opportunities such as the Title VIII Fellowship, FLAS Fellowship, and CESSI Tuition Remission are also available.
